Quantum World Congress 2025 Opens with a Call to “Responsibly Accelerate” the Global Quantum Ecosystem
Earlier this week, Quantum World Congress (QWC) opened with a clear message: the quantum era has arrived—and industry, government, academia, and communities must move together to scale it responsibly.
Connected DMV Executive Chair Stu Solomon welcomed attendees back to QWC, underscoring why the conference was created: “to bring together the world’s leaders in quantum as a means of responsibly accelerating this critical ecosystem—across industry, academia, government, and the community.” With 2025 designated the International Year of Quantum, Solomon highlighted how the past 12 months have seen “staggering” scientific progress and a “great awakening” in financial markets as investors recognize the coming age of quantum technologies.
Solomon pointed to the momentum across the sector—from pure-play quantum firms to technology giants and a wave of startups worldwide—while noting the work still ahead to establish industrial-strength policies, regulations, and standards so the world can benefit from quantum “in a safe and responsible way.”
The opening also spotlighted the growing partnership between QWC and the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). Kinsey Fabrizio, President of CTA, reflected on the success of the first-ever quantum program at CES earlier this year and previewed what’s next at CES 2026:
“If AI is the technology shaping this decade, then quantum will define the decade ahead,” Fabrizio said, emphasizing how quantum computing, communications, and sensing are moving from theory to reality—and how their intersection with AI, cryptography, and space tech will multiply impact across industries.
Fabrizio also announced CES Foundry, a new two-day experience at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas that will serve as a heartbeat for AI, blockchain, and quantum at CES 2026, including a half-day quantum program delivered in collaboration with Quantum World Congress.
A Week of Learning, Deal-Making, and Global Collaboration
QWC kicked off on September 16 with a pre-day of bootcamps and workshops, including the fourth annual Quantum Startup Pitch Competition, the International Forum, and a quantum-and-space convening that showcased the growing intersection of these domains.
The following days featured a plenary lineup in the morning, deep-dive breakouts in the afternoon, and networking opportunities throughout, with programming continuing into September 17 and 18.
