Tom Newby, Head of the Office for Quantum Technologies in the UK’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, provided an update on the state of quantum development in the United Kingdom as part of the "National Quantum Updates" during the Global Cooperation learning track at Quantum World Congress 2023.

Tom Newby is the Head of the Office for Quantum Technologies in the UK’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. Previously he worked for the Treasury, where he was Head of Spending Strategy, leading on spending review planning and delivery. Before that he headed up the Treasury’s digital economy unit, where he worked on a range of priority technologies including quantum.
